Worthington Ben Francis Cup Risca 22 Tredegar 17 A brace of tries by centre Mark Bell gave Risca the Worthington Ben Francis Cup for the fifth time with a 22-17 victory over favorites Tredegar at Blackwood R.F.C. Tredegar had looked well on their way to victory when outside half Gerwyn Pearson and wing Daniel Morris went over in the opening quarter. Risca was brought back into the game with a well worked try from wing Lee Llewellyn who dived over in the corner. Evans improved it with a tremendous conversion from wide out making it 17-10 to Tredegar at the interval. The second half belonged to Risca. Bell scored twice and Evans converted as the Risca defence held firm to give the underdogs a well deserved win.
